It's full of kitchy things on the wall: lots of Western-themed items that would definitely appeal to tourists that have never visited the West before. The place is apparently named after John Wayne: there's a large cutout of him on the bar and all of the menu items are named after his movies.

We stayed in the campground and ate at the cafe. The staff both places were friendly and helpful. The grassy area was perfect for our kids. Great bathrooms and showers (Although my wife complained about the women's being out of soap and messy). Loved out stay here and will be back.

We ate here twice, partly because it was close to where we stayed, and because it was one of the few places open early for breakfast.

Great restaurant to grab some delicious food. Brought the family both on the way too and on the way back from Lake Powell. Friendly service, home style dishes, and on some night's, they have live music from a Hank Williams type older guy who was very nice. Just a great stop!

We eat here every time we go to goblin valley area. Cyclone Burger is great. Love the pretzel bun

The thing to remember about traveling through Utah, especially the southern part, is that the locals have no problem gouging tourists for every cent they can get. And don't forget: Utah taxes EVERYTHING, including food in grocery stores, so plan on that too!

We did eat breakfast here, but only because we'd seen from the menu that they had oatmeal, and we like a good bowl of oatmeal in the morning. It was very good, but again, $4.99 plus tax for a medium-sized bowl of oatmeal seems excessive. It was good and made a nice start to the day.

We had a burger and a BLT. The burger came on a pretzel bun and it was very good. The BLT was OK, except that they use romaine lettuce, rather than the traditional iceberg (which for me is much better.) Drinks are served in metal cups, which seemed jarring: it's like chewing on tin foil. We asked for glasses and got them right away!

The prices are very high for what you get. This seems to be primarily a steak place, but the prices of those seemed even more out of line than what we ordered. You'd have to have deep pockets to eat here more than once.

I went to Duke's Slickrock Grill, the first time, for dinner earlier this month. My family and I took a 10 day road trip out west and out of all the places we ate at, Duke's was our favorite! We had been traveling all day and were ready to stop somewhere to eat and camp when we stumbled upon Duke's. After we parked the RV, we walked over to the restaurant. My dad had the brisket (super good he said), my brother had chicken (also good), and my mom and I had trout (amazing). It was the best trout I've ever eaten; super fresh and perfectly cooked. A close second to the trout was the cornbread. Oh my gosh! They brought out four pieces as an appetizer and we LOVED it!! I wish I had the recipe!! The next morning we had breakfast there and it was delicious. I highly recommend this place!
